Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) isn’t just a theory—it’s a method grounded in years of rigorous academic and clinical research across the globe. Extensive studies have shown NVR’s effectiveness in a wide range of settings, from families and schools to mental health services and youth justice programs. Currently, Leiden University Medical Centre in the Netherlands is leading a groundbreaking research project on the use of NVR in suicide prevention, exploring how the use of NVR alongside DBT can support individuals and families in some of the most critical and complex situations. Meanwhile, RiSE Mutual in the UK is actively implementing and studying NVR in real-world contexts, adding valuable insights to the ever-growing evidence base. Over the years, numerous respected institutions and researchers have contributed to the development and validation of NVR. Their work continues to shape how professionals, caregivers, and communities engage with challenging behaviour in compassionate, effective ways. 👉 Explore published research and ongoing studies here:
